35 Ways for Avon Representatives to Sell Avon Perfume

         An easy way for an Avon Representative to make a sale is to market Avon's perfumes. Remember to always include samples in brochures and orders, it will help you sell products. I have had many people buy an item after I give them a sample, and especially after I give them a trial size. I make up Welcome/Try Avon Baggies that have many samples, including several perfume and skin care, a postcard/coupon that I have made for dirt cheap at vistaprint.com, and a trial bottle of SSS, Naturals, bubble bath, etc. You can get trial sizes for as low as 59 cents and then you get your discount.

   An Avon perfume, alone or in a set with body lotion and shower gel, makes a great gift for all occasions. On holidays, they can easily be marketed to men to give to their wife, girlfriend, or even mother. Below are 35 ways to help you sell perfume. 




1.    Gift-Wrap … and sell it on the spot, like in department stores.
2.    Suggest that men use a “no special occasion” gift, instead of flowers.
3.    Offer a fragrance raffle.  Example: Buy one; get one entry; buy two, get two entries; etc.
Drawing can be had for a basket of AVON products.
4.    Offer a $3 coupon, redeemable by Campaign ___, toward any Avon product.
5.    Put all bottles of fragrance in the hands of reliable customers (home trial offer).
6.    Do a market survey.  What kind of fragrance does she buy now?  How much does she spend? Etc.
7.    Spray yourself, your brochures, your bags, or ribbons inserted in the brochures.
8.    Use a markdown offer toward the time your payment is due.
9.    Purchase two, get a third at ½ price – or buy one, get one at ½ price.
10. Carry to sell on paydays.
11. Set a goal to sell a bottle a day.
12. Suggest to men for special occasion gift.  They will be happier shopping with you than having to go to the mall.
13. Any customer, who buys one, you’ll give $3 to her when she sells the first one for you, and $1 for each additional one.
14. Approach beauty business (i.e. hair, tanning, nail salons).  Put a demo in there.
15. Offer gift packages or create a bundle of products including fragrance.
16. Offer cologne at regular price, and jewelry item at $2 off.
17. Have a Fragrance Party.
18. Offer a discount to senior citizens or teenagers.
19. Advertise a lottery ticket with each bottle.
20. Suggest that men have a bottle of fragrance on hand for those pinches they get into with the wives or girl friends.
21. Give a customer a free bottle incentive.  For example: 10% off her bottle of cologne for each bottle she sells for you.
22. Point out the brochure-cover sample.  Remind customer that special occasions have a habit of sneaking up on you.
23. Offer a rebate: 2 box tops and receipts = $4.
24. Give each helper a bottle to demo for you.
25. Bring samples to gatherings – even PTA meetings.
26. Offer a free product with purchase.
27. Re-canvas your territory with the brochure.
28. Start a “Fragrance Club.”  For example: offer 50% off every 3rd bottle of fragrance your customer buys.
29. Carry bottle with you for impulse purchases.
30. Help your customer with “Thought Starters”: a perfect gift for November birthdays, friends who work, etc.
31. Remember to mention the Avon Guarantee.
32. Daughters will be visiting from college.  Talk to dads!
33. Don’t let your customer’s husbands forget their anniversary.
34. Sell a fragrance gift certificate, the hold a bottle for your customer.
35. Average fragrance user owns 5 different fragrances and uses more than 2 of them on a regular basis.
